Ventura is an iconic California beachside community and….is the perfect place to buy, whether it is your first home, or second home.

The coastal city of Ventura has something for everyone. It starts at the top of the steep Ventura foothills and winds its way down to the Pacific overlooking Channel Islands National Park. Epic surf conditions and nearly endless green space.

It’s known for its beaches like San Buenaventura State Beach with long wooden Ventura Pier. Surfer’s Point is popular for surfing and windsurfing. Landmarks on downtown’s Main Street include the Mission San Buenaventura, with its 1809 church. Boats depart Ventura Harbor for Channel Islands National Park a habitat for rare island foxes and scrub jays.

Ventura for short, but the city’s formal name, San Buenaventura, comes from Mission San Buenaventura, a Spanish mission established in 1782 by Father Junípero Serra. The mission still stands in the historic downtown district and is much loved and well-visited — especially after Father Serra was given sainthood by Pope Francis in 2015. A statue of Serra in front of City Hall also resides on the city’s official seal, alongside the mission.

Outdoor beauty, great weather, close to large cultural hubs like Los Angeles yet out of the crowds, fresh food and community pride, coastal train stops, walkable city centers and year round festivals.cropped-ventura-pier.jpg

Home to several successful companies like Patagonia and The Trade Desk, and still home to many unique local micro-breweries and distilleries.

The good-natured and fun-loving residents of “Ventura” welcome newcomers and why not? … Buenaventura means “good fortune” in Spanish. Why not give it a try for yourself
